The all-new 2027 Volkswagen Atlas has been reworked around something refreshingly practical: real life. Volkswagen keeps the spacious three-row formula but adds a redesigned cabin, smarter technology and useful family details that go beyond simply adding another screen. It can be configured with six or seven seats, offers serious cargo capacity and backs it all with turbocharged power.
Turbo Power Without Overcomplicating Things
Under the hood, the 2027 Volkswagen Atlas gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged TSI engine producing 282 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive, giving the Atlas a setup well suited to changing Canadian road conditions. Volkswagen lists combined fuel consumption at an estimated 10.0 L/100 km.
Pack the Stroller and Then Keep Packing
This is where a three-row SUV needs to earn its footprint. The Volkswagen Atlas provides up to 2,701 litres of cargo space, giving families plenty of flexibility for luggage, sports equipment and those shopping trips that somehow turn into a full cargo-area situation. An Easy Open and Easy Close Liftgate makes loading easier, while the second row is designed to provide convenient access to the third row. Volkswagen even highlights the ability to accommodate three child seats across the second-row bench.
A Much Bigger Digital Centrepiece
The redesigned cabin can be equipped with a huge 15-inch infotainment display, while Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro comes standard. The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas also gets standard dual Qi2 wireless charging, so two compatible phones can charge at once instead of passengers negotiating over one charging pad. Available Harman Kardon premium audio rounds out the more upscale technology experience.
Comfort Reaches Past the Front Row
The Atlas offers heated and ventilated front seats, with heated and ventilated second-row seating available too. Available Nappa leather front seats with massage functionality, an available 14-way power driver's seat, standard rear shades and B-pillar air vents add thoughtful comfort throughout the cabin.
Bring More Than Just Suitcases
For weekends that require equipment rather than luggage, the 2027 Volkswagen Atlas offers up to 5,000 pounds of braked towing capacity. That gives this family SUV another practical side for owners planning camping trips, recreational weekends or other adventures that require a trailer.
Driver Tech Keeps an Extra Eye Out
The updated IQ.DRIVE suite includes standard Side Assist with Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning System. Travel Assist combines Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist and Emergency Assist Plus. Standard front and rear Park Distance Control adds help in tighter spaces, while an Area View 360-degree camera system is available for an even broader look around the SUV.
